Eeleeches are small but relatively dangerous Capture Level 5 Worm Beasts that live in the heart of Mars Diamond Pass. They survive on the blood of other organisms until they grow into Eeleech Bats.
Description[]
Eeleeches are describes as small gray leeches with two nubs growing out their sides and an open mouth encircled by small but razor sharp teeth. As they grow, they start to show their genders. Females will turn a darker grey on top and red on the bottom, while males will turn a grayish yellow on top and purple on the bottom. They hatch out of purple, almost rock-like eggs accumulated on the floor of the Mars Diamond Pass. These eggs are laid by Eeleech Bats, and once they hatch, the Eeleeches are expected to fend for themselves. As they grow, their arms grow wings, and they begin to grow hind legs which start out as nubs like their arms.
To feed, Eeleeches will often attach themselves to a hosts' body and sap that host's blood until they are bone dry. Their teeth dig into the skin and anchor them to their host. Once attached, they begin using the syringe-like tongue in their mouths to suck blood from their host into their stomachs.As they grow larger, they start developing their gender-specific abilities. Females will be able to spit poisonous fumes, and males can send out small jolts of electricity from their mouths.
As Food[]
So long as the stomach and the poison and/or natural generator has been removed, the flavour of these beasts will not be compromised. The meat of these little critters can be used in soups and stews or can be eaten whole on skewers. The meat is said to taste like juicy beef sukiyaki.
