Kawako (川子, River Children) are a race of humanoid-sea creatures that are known for appearing in various ocean and rivers around the world. They are known to be very peaceful and even angelic if one is ever met in person. It is often stated that Kawakos and Onis have a old feud between them although it is never brought up about what caused said feud.
