Simaestus (シマエスタズ, Shimaesutazu) is a simian creature that lives within the lava infested area that is known as Grill Valley. This creature is quite common in the area and has earned the alias of Wukong of the Sun (太陽の孫悟空, Taiyō no Songokū) due to its ability to create flames that are said to be as hot as the very sun.

Appearance and Biology

Simaestus is a bipedal, primate-like beast that is primarily reddish-brown with sections of white fur on its chest, head, and lower legs. Several gold markings adorn its body: swirled, circular ones on its knees and shoulders flame-shaped ones on the back of its hands, and a stripe around its back that forms two swirls on its chest. On top of its head is a large flame, which is never extinguished. Simaestus has an orange, rounded muzzle, long, round ears with blue inside, and a red ridge over its eyes. The eyes themselves are blue with yellow sclera. There are five blue digits on both its feet and hands, and it has a long tail.

Simaestus are very light when it comes to terms of weight. They generally only weigh around 55 kilograms, as they need to be agile when it comes to facing predators and hunters. The fact that their bones are hollow, makes it easier for them to move around as they are able to move form area to area quickly without stopping due to the fact they are not weighted down as much.

Behavior

Simaestus are well known for their expertise in fighting skills, said to be able to replicate and mimic any form of fighting with one simple glace. Due to this, most of the males of the species often hold competitions to prove which one is a powerful fighter, often at times defeating the weaker ones and dealing with them in a certain manner. They are also shown to be very prideful in themselves, often showing signs of arrogance throughout their own pack, especially those who become leaders. It has been recorded that Male Simaestus, when enraged or frustrated, throw temper tantrums that result in almost an entire second of their homes being scorched down to the ground. Females of the species, although aggressive in their own way, are shown to be more the intellectual of the species, showing much more signs of intelligence whenever they come into contact with outsiders or other creatures. In most cases, the females often stay behind to care for the young ones, training them to soon become fighters similar to those around them. It has also been seen that the females have a code of conduct in their own sense, obeying ideals that they don't often find important to share with the males, often enraging them to their tantrums.
